Have you ever felt like you were easing down a worn and comfortable path of life (one of your choosing or one of your acceptance) when you realize that the path is no longer visible? You’re looking down at your feet and you see the ground beneath, you look behind and see the well traveled path with your footprints still visible in the dirt but what lays ahead is somewhere you have never been. To either side are also destinations unknown. You are sure the paths have been traveled the due to the prints of feet, wheels, and unknown other things but your knowledge is not so broad as to guide you in which direction to choose. You stand there for a moment, and hour, a day and you ponder. “Where should I go?” “Which direction should I choose?” “How will I know?” The only thing you know for sure is…you can not…you will not go backwards. You take a deep breath and whether it be faith, prayer, or a simple coin toss you take your first step in the new direction you choose. In that very second…your present collides with your future. You are here and now. You have begun your beginning. You have started. You can finally exhale.
This is the path of every new Indie author. Do I move forward and take the jump? Or do I move sideways and stick that which I am comfortable? Do I open myself up for criticism and ridicule or do I take the leap of faith and hope there is water in the pool when I land? Several months ago, I received an email from a couple of new indie authors inquiring how they could go about finding Beta readers. I told them I would contact my readers to see if anyone would be interested in Beta reading for these women. Your responses were over-whelming. Armed with great Beta readers and an innate talent that could rival some of the most seasoned authors, Gail Mchugh has given us, “Collide.”
“Collide” is the first story in a two-part arc that is bound to be the “next great love story.” (Don’t say I didn’t warn you!!) Having just lived through a heart breaking and painful year, our heroine, Emily Cooper is moving to New York City to have a fresh start. Even though she has traveled thousands of miles to be closer to her boyfriend, and great love Dillon, she will be moving in with her sassy, invigorating best friend Olivia. It’s one thing knowing that her best friend and her boyfriend don’t share warm fuzzy feelings for one another (Ms. Mchugh had me cracking up through out the whole book with the nick-names she came up with for Olivia to call Dillon) but it’s another when Emily starts to ask internal questions that yield complicated answers.
When Emily meets a tall, dark and handsome stranger while at work, she realizes that there may be somethings in life that are bound to collide even when you try to avoid them.
Ms. Mchugh writes characters that are sexy and charming while also writing those that you want to physically harm..either way they are inspiring and unforgettable. “Collide” is a truly beautiful and heartbreaking novel that is bound to tick you off and tear you up all while turning you on! And just when you think you’re gonna see the light at the end of your Kindle…eer…tunnel, Ms. Mchugh ends the flipping book!! YES!!!! She ENDS it!!!!! Leave us hanging on until the summer release of the second installment….”Pulse.” Oh Ms. Mchugh…you are killing me!!
Go read this book..and then please let me know what you think of this brand new author and her amazing story.
I look forward to hearing from you,
xo,
Lisa

Hey Nikki,
I was wondering if I could convince you to put a review of Collide on Amazon.com? It is so important for authors to receive as many positive reviews as possible on Amazon. Thank you so much for your participation. xo

Read it late into the night last night and finished it this morning. Loved it! Wish book 2 was available to read right away.
Excellent book. I need to find a series that has like 20 books already written, the waiting kills me.

Brilliant couldn’t put it down cannot wait for pulse will just have to re read it and supplement with next in series of thoughtless trilogy as that’s out next week
I loved this book and cannot wait until the second. The ending left me hanging and craving more.
I began LOVING the book (still interested in characters and will definately buy Pulse just to see if Dillon gets what he deserves). I’m about 50% through COLLIDE and have had to put it down as I am already sick of Emily being so manipulated by Dillon and these “close encounters” she keeps having with Gavin but not following through. It’s almost like the movies “SCREAM” where the girl continually opens the door she KNOWS she’s not supposed too. Way too hard on the nerves!
O…M…G…WHY did I wait so long to read this??? I don’t have a good answer. I just know that when you recommend something, I can’t procrastinate. I just need to listen to book Jedi-Master Lisa!
Oh Kathy – (in a muffled voice) “I Am Your Mother”….. Heehee! I’m so glad you loved it. I knew you would! xoxo
