Welcome back my friends, I’m sorry it’s been so long since you have heard from me (from a book reviewing point of view).
While I had originally planned for February to be a month filled with fun contests and give-aways, I had assumed that I would also be reviewing books during the month as well. However, the month of February took an unexpected and heartbreaking turn and half way through my father passed away. While his passing wasn’t necessarily a complete surprise it was gut-wrenching and painful none the less. With the last couple of weeks of his life and the last few days and hours of his existence I sat with him and talked about the things that we had discussed time and time again through out my life. My dad and I had NO secrets. Ours was not a tale of deathbed confessions of love or apologies. We loved each other everyday and told each other everyday and in the end, just being with him was a part of my living with him.
There were no books, no stories, no tales that could ease or entertain the pain that was weighing on my soul and so while I tried to read…nothing stuck…nothing made me want to write to you. So I kept quiet.
Over the past few days, I came across a series of books that made me smile. The With Me in Seattle series by Kristen Proby is a hot sexy erotic romance series that involves the Montgomery family and those closest to them. I guess that is what drew me in and kept me close. Family. Yes…yes…I know, Erotica and family usually don’t go hand-in-hand…(or other part in other part…heehee) but this family is a fun easy going group that loves each other and protects each other. And you KNOW how much I LOVE my series!
In the first book, “Come Away With Me,” we meet Natalie and Luke (the extreme Alpha male and the strong-willed female). Their relationship is HOT right from the start and Luke will have you drooling from the first word until the last period (heehee…come read this review after you finish the books).
The second book, “Fight With Me,” is about Natalie’s best friend Jules Montgomery (who we meet and fall completely in love with in the first book). **The ONLY negative thing that I could say about book 2 was that fact that the endearment “baby” was used again. That drove me crazy!!! But not to worry because Ms. Proby took care of that issue in book 3.** In Fight With Me, we are re-introduced to Nate, Jules’ HOT, SEXY as hell, TATTOOed, YUMMY boss. He is swoon worthy, drool worthy, and every other “worthy” I can think of! Ms. Proby wrote a fun story for this couple that includes white-hot chemistry and silly banter all which kept me smiling from start to finish. During this book, we got to spend more time with Jules’ family and fall deeper in love with every single Montgomery in the clan.
Book three, “Play With Me,” is Will Montgomery and Megan McBride’s story. Will is a super delicious famous football player and he is out for one thing…Megan! Megan is a friend of Jules and a nurse who has trust issues. The only childish behavior she wants to deal with is the ones coming from her patients not the kind dished out from an arrogant jock. Once the “baby” is taken out of the lingo, the endearments become adorable and sweet and the story and HOT and Sexy just like the other two.
Ms. Proby continues to allow her readers to watch “our friends” grow and change from story to story. She does this while building the interest of the characters whose stories have yet to be told. I can’t wait to read about Samantha and Leo and ESPECIALLY Caleb (he makes me drool every time he enters the scene!!). Ms. Proby also infuses her stories with humor, wit, friendship, and loyalty – all things that soothed my soul during my entry back into the land of the living. So thank you Ms. Proby. I look forward to your next installment.
Warning – These books are erotic and sexy. The scenes are well written but they are explicit and graphic and exactly what one is looking for when reading erotic romance (wink). There are no BSDM scenes in these three books, all scenes are consensual and male/female.
I look forward to hearing from you.
xo,
Lisa

i love this series! So sorry to hear about your loss. My dad has been gone for a while but I treasure the memories I have of him.
I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad that you had such a loving relationship with your father, though.
This series is amazing!! I’ve just purchased the newest book and am loving it!
I cherish my small family so I feel deeply for you in your loss. I absolutely love these books. I am just starting play with me. I hope you also read Under the Mistletoe with Me. It was a necessary connection to get Isaac and Stacy’s story. My best to you!
OK. Just ordered book one…here I go!!
Lisa I want to extend my condolences to you and your family. My dad has been gone for 21 years, and I still think of him and miss him.
I just finished Play with Me, this morning, and I have had a smile on my face and in my thoughts all day. I agree 100% with your review. I think KP has written a lovely story of family and loyalty (& steamy sex), and I too am super excited to hear Leo and Sam’s story. I wonder if Caleb will finally find someone.. maybe Brynna?
Thanks for your reviews and posts.
My heart too, is with you. I lost my sweet dad 7 years ago now… and it does seem like yesterday. The memories I have of his elegance and dignity make me smile and cry just a little all the time.
We had the same kind of relationship as you did with your father, no secrets, all love all the time, and so I can say with some assurance … when you have no regrets, it gets easier darlin’…
Peace to you sweet Lisa.
Thank you Kyle! Your warm thoughts are so much appreciated.

It sounds like you had an amazing relationship with your dad, I’m very sorry for your loss!
I finished book 1 in less than 24 hrs- it was great!! Just what I needed! A true love story without sending me on an emotional roller coaster! I love the rides but it was a nice change to read this with a huge smile the entire time b/c every word, every character, every scene… made me HAPPY!! I loved Jules (& am looking forward to loving Nate) and am ready to start book 2!!!! Another great suggestion, I am not surprised but as always – Thank You!!
Hey Melodi…just wait till book three…swoon!!!
Finished book 2 tonight in less than 24 hrs again. oh I love Jules!! I really connected with her in book 1& was ready for book 2. I loved her story… AND hello ace – Holy Smokes!! Then Will melted my heart in just a few short pages with his love for his sister! So I am ready for book 3 and all his hottness as well!!! I love how these books keep the characters connected yet tell their own stories!
I have to admit something to u…. I had seen this series several times as an amazon recommendation for me but I must admit I kept passing it up b/c it was… In Seattle! I’ve never been there but I keep noticing books I’ve read recently are some how entwined with Seattle. Silly to pass it up for this reason b/c the other books were all great but… I kept feeling that Seattle is maybe a hot fad right now so I kept passing these up… Until your blog! I knew that if u loved them enough to write about them then – Seattle or not – they are must reads! I am now starting to think that maybe I should move to Seattle
or at least visit!!!
Melodi, I always look forward to your feedback:) I’m so glad you enjoyed the series. I love sharing them with you. I can’t wait to find another one. Give me a couple of days…Have you read the Worth series by Karen Erikson? Check it out! I am on the fourth and final book now!!
