About Me

Thank you for visiting my blog!

For those of you who don’t know me well, my name is Lisa and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to read!  It truly is one of my favorite pastimes.  I find myself constantly getting lost within the pages of the books that I read.  (Ok, Ok since one of my blog goals is to always be honest with my followers, I will clarify, that I no longer get lost in the pages of the books, because I do in fact have a Kindle.  Phew!  Thank goodness that is out in the open!!)  Anyway, back to what I was saying, I don’t just read books, I absorb them.  I see the characters, I hear them, I feel for them and their situations..I fall in love with them or I fall in hate with them…either way, if the writing is done well, I am left with feelings of some sort.

My goal for this blog is to share my book reviews for books that I have read and LOVED.  Why should you waste your time reading about books I disliked?  You can find those on your own…Heehee.  Authors put their heart and soul into writing their stories, I put my heart into writing my reviews, therefore, if I didn’t love a book, I just won’t write about it.  Plain and simple.  I see no reason to be cruel here.  I do, however, promise to always be honest in my reviews and to give reasons for my feelings.  I will always do my very best to never give book secrets or story treasures away.

As for you, I am so happy that you are here with me!! I would love feedback from you.  Please tell me how to make this site better.  Feel free to disagree with my review…but please try not to give any secrets or treasures away.

This is my very first blog attempt.  I will do the best I can to make it enlightening and entertaining for all of us.

xo,

Lisa

Best of luck with your blog! I love reading although I don’t do it as often as I’d like to. In any case, looking forward to reading your blog so that when I am selecting a book, I pick one that I know I will enjoy! I’m a little behind with the times and still working my way through the Fifty Shades trilogy :-) )

Great blog!! Just read “Knight” and am now praying that she writes the next book in that series QUICKLY! In the meantime based on your recommendations, I will read her other series…thank goodness there are many books to choose from! Keep up the good writing!! :)

    • Honestly, when it comes to Kristen Ashley, you can’t go wrong! I would definitely look into the Dream man series (If sexy Alpha Men are your thing..and motorcycles are your thing!) If you are more of a mountain girl..check out the Colorado Mountain series. Either way..you are in for a treat! Keep me posted on what you choose!

Just wanted to share how much I’ve enjoyed reading your blogs today!!! I used to not enjoy reading… Only read when forced in school/college. Then I hit 30 and had a small “early-life crisis” and entered a deep depression. Found myself reading the Twilight series and for the first time… I loved reading! I loved Twilight but found myself wanting “more”… I wanted an adult version! ;) then I stumbled upon The Black Dagger Brotherhood! Oh my!!! That is what the woman in me needed! I have spent the last 5 years reading, reading & reading…. Reading has, in a sense, healed me! BDB, Lorelei James (Rough Riders & Backtop Cowboys), Katie Lane (Deep in the Heart of Texas) and soooo many more…. Recently read the 50′s and Wow! I accidentally purchased Thoughtless on my iPad a few days ago… it hadn’t shown up on any of my many many google searches for a new series to read, similar to my other reads, but thought oh well, I have it so might as well read it! OMG!!! I don’t know if I’ve ever connected so much to a book! I found myself in bed literally sobbing towards the end. My husband was like ‘Really… It’s 1am. We need to go to bed!’ I told him no b/c my heart was hurting for Kiera & couldn’t sleep feeling this way! I had to read until it was happy again and finished the book! Then finished Effortless yesterday. I needed more… I had accidentally bought the best book ever! I started searching again :( stupid search engine was getting me nowhere! I found S.C Stephens on FB which the top post led me to: Lisa’s Booty so upon completing my Bond mission, I started exploring your blog!! You are wonderful! I LOVE your expressions & can feel your reviews. They are great and have given me SO many more paths to continue down to keep my reading alive! I mean it when I say that reading has healed me… So Thank You for helping me continue to ‘heal’ ;)

I really need Reckless to be released but until then I don’t know where to start… Any suggestions???

      Melodi,
I can’t begin to tell you how much everything you said has meant to me. I have always enjoyed reading..as a child (I am about your age) I read and read..I love the Sweet Valley High series..and every other book I could get my hands on. After having my first child (my son) I started to need something to make me feel…girlie..so I started on my journey of self discovery. Which lead me back to romance novels. My journey started with author Lori Foster..still one of my fav and always a good solid read. I then, too, got hooked on Twilight… which led me to Black dagger brotherhood. Phew..THE HOTTEST brothers EVER!!!! That was when I learned erotica could spice up my mind as well as my marriage. I had also had my second child (another boy) and I needed some girlie like never before! Enter Lorelei James (HOT HOT HOT)!

So, it looks like we have similar reading likes…while you are waiting for Reckless, definitely read the books on my blog..because it is my PROMISE that the only books I will EVER post will be books that I LOVE! I have authors that ask me to review their books..and I explain that if I don’t love their book, I won’t blog it.

Some fantastic reads are as follows: The Dream Men series by Kristen Ashley (seriously..you want to feel connected with characters..start here!!!), Defying the Odds by Kele Moon (the heroine’s name is Melody..heehee), The Sweet series by Maya Banks (HOT!!), The Dom Who Loved Me by Lexxi Blake (enough said!!) Reason to Breathe by Rebecca Donavan…

Start there and please stay in touch. I would love to hear what books you have enjoyed.
      xo,

      Lisa
p.s There is an author meet and greet in Chicago at the end of September..go to S.C Stephens page and click on the convention..A bunch of us will be there along with 10 or so authors..you should try to come..it should be a great weekend…NO HUSBANDS..heehee!

Thank you for the suggestions!! I will explore the books and make my decision! So exciting! It is nice to hear that someone else enjoys the books to help them feel, well yes girlie! I had my first son last June, and definitely needed to feel like a… Hot mama as some of my insecurities of the past started rearing their ugly heads again :( Yes, my husband has become a BIG fan of my reading… I am more confident. I never realized that reading could have such an impact!

I will most definitely explore the convention info! I would love to meet others that enjoy these reads as much as I!!! Thanks again, and I’ll let u know what book captures my soul next!

Hi Lisa – I was hoping to get some insight on the best way to secure a beta reader. I have inquired to a number of people on fiction press with no response. Do you have any suggestions or contacts?

  19. Sandi

I have to say I am so happy I found you on one of my fav authors facebooks. I too am an avid reader and get lost in a good book. And thanks to my Kindle and cheaper prices I can read about 3 a week if Im lucky. But with you I have found some books I normally wouldn’t have been drawn to and am thrilled I did because, of your Blog Keep it up. Sandi

  20. Nina

Love your blog! One problem is that I don’t do Facebook or Twitter and really have no interest. Is there some other way to participate in “Lisa’s Booty”? Hope so…either way I love your recommendations…

    • lnp416

I LOVE that you love my blog and aren’t on F.B!! How did you find me?? How about this…let’s use the honor system ok? Please tell a few friends about this give away. See if you can get at least 1 of your friends to like my site and I’ll enter you right in! Does that sound fair? let me know! xoxo

  21. hockeymomforever

Thanks Lisa! I’ll see what I can do. I found you through a recommendation of a friend who is also an avid reader and has similar tastes to mine. We compare notes on books all the time. My biggest problem is that I read really fast and books never last long enough…:-)
